Visit a sample sale
Our first tip is to visit a sample sale! These are when bridal shops sell their gowns that other brides have tried on during their appointment at a discount. There is nothing wrong with these gowns – the shop just needs to make room for more gowns to come on!

Our Semi-Annual Clearance Sale is essentially our version of a bridal sample sale! We have a large selection of bridal gowns that are at a discount ONLY during this sale. These gowns are between 20-80% off! Between both our Bel Air and Hagerstown locations, there will be hundreds of discounted gowns for you to choose from!
These gowns are all ready-to-wear, meaning that you will take them home with you the day of your appointment! Keep in mind that you may need alterations and/or cleaning. If you are looking for your dream designer gown while getting a great deal, then this sale might be right for you!
Research bridal shops
When you are deciding which bridal shops to look at, check out their website and social media to see if they have a price range of dresses that they sell listed. If they don’t, give them a call and ask!
You don’t want to show up at your appointment only to find out that they don’t have any dresses available within your budget!
Go nontraditional
You could always choose to buy a dress that isn’t a wedding gown! This is a really great options that a lot of brides who are eloping choose.
Choose a simple gown
Typically, the more detail (lace, beading, etc.) that a dress has, the more expensive that it will be. The less detail that you have on your dress, the less expensive it may be!
Re-sell your wedding dress
Finally, choosing to sell your dress after your wedding day can help you get back some of the money that you spent on it. It also gives another bride a chance at getting a gorgeous dress for a discounted price!
