When it comes to planning a wedding, a wedding dress can often be a significant and surprising cost. It can be a little bit of a shock when you first walk into a bridal salon. Why are these dresses so much more expensive than your typical gown? And what should you do if you’re really looking for a budget wedding dress?

Here at K&B, we believe in giving you the best experience,  so we’re lifting the veil a little on why wedding dresses cost more than people expect. We’re also making sure that you can get your dream dress at a dream price with our Ready to Wear Flash Sale!

Details: March 29th to 31st, all Ready to Wear Dresses are 50 percent off! Click here to book your appointment for a chance at a one-of-a-kind dress. We think they’ll go fast!

Okay, so first let’s talk about the factors that make a wedding dress more expensive than a regular dress.

They Have More Fabric

Let’s start with the most obvious cost contributor – a wedding dress has waaaay more fabric than your average outfit. It’s nice fabric too, so that you can be comfortable on your wedding day and look stunning in photos! It’s yards and yards more fabric than even a fancy floor-length gown, so right off the top it’s going to cost a little bit more money because you’re getting more dress!

They Have Particular Detailing

budget wedding dressesBeads make a dress sparkle in all lighting, and draw attention to you, the bride. Before your dress arrives all those beads have to be added by hand! That takes a ton of time, skill, and attention to detail.

Lace dresses also can be quite expensive, because making lace is an intricate process. Not only does it take more effort to make, any designer using their own lace pattern is offering you a unique gown. But they are also taking on additional costs by commissioning a designer to create the lace pattern and then sending out for specific lace instead of using the kind of lace that you see on H&M dresses.

They’re Made to Order

Have you ever wondered why you order a dress from Macy’s and it arrives in a week, whereas your wedding dress takes four to six months to come in? That’s because they are made to order – the fabric for your gown is only cut once the order comes in. It’s a dress just for you! The cost is the same whether one dress is ordered across the country or 100 dresses are ordered. That increases the risk for the designer to lose money, and the cost reflects that.

Find Your Dream Dress at a Budget Wedding Dress Price

Okay, so those are some of the reasons wedding dresses cost more than regular dresses. They make sense right? Now for the best news! We want every bride to get her dream wedding dress, no matter what her price point. If you’re looking for a budget wedding dress, but also your dream dress, then we are here to help!

Next weekend we are having a Ready to Wear flash sale – that means that our sample dresses, the dresses we have in store, will be FIFTY PERCENT OFF! That’s not fifty percent off the first price. No, these dresses have been discontinued so they can no longer be sold to order, so they are marked down as Ready-to-Wear. They have already been discounted, but next weekend they are an additional 50 percent off!

These dresses are truly one of a kind, because they are the last sample we have, which means if you find your dress, not only do you get to leave with your dress but you will be the only one to get that dress!

Book your appointment early the weekend of March 29th to 31st, because you don’t want someone to take your dream dress before you even have a chance to try it on!
