5 SAMPLE SALE MISTAKES EVERY BRIDE MAKES
If you are attending a sample sale, or think that you want to in the near future, here are five sample sale mistakes that every bride makes! Hopefully, this list can keep you from making some of these mistakes.
1. Not bringing guests
We highly encourage our brides to bring at least one guest with you to your bridal appointment! Finding your dress is such a special moment in your wedding planning experience. You should spend it with the ones who are closest to you! While we don’t suggest bringing too many guests, it’s great to bring along two or three. 2. Trying too many options
Another common sample sale mistake is when a bride tries on too many dresses. While we encourage you to try on as many dresses as you’d like to, we find that brides who try on too many end up overwhelmed and confused! It can be challenging to narrow down 15+ dresses to just one. And if you’re someone who loves everything that you try on, it makes the choice even harder! Once you try on one of each style dress, start only trying on the styles that are your favorites. It will be easier to narrow down your decision from there!
3. Walking away from a one-of-a-kind dress
If you find yourself falling in love with a one-of-a-kind dress, don’t walk away from it! There’s a reason why you’re drawn to that dress over others. If you walk away from it now, you may not be able to find it later! This is especially true with dresses that are exclusive to the bridal shop. For example, we have our own private label collection here at K&B, Main Street Bridal. Some of these dresses are included in our Black Friday sale! If a bride walks away from one of these dresses during the sale, it will sell to someone else, and she won’t be able to find it elsewhere. Keep this in mind as you’re shopping!
4. Not saying yes to “the one”
Similar to our previous point, a huge mistake to make during a sample sale is to not say yes to “the one.” If you know that this dress is your dress, don’t sleep on it! Even if you come back the next day to purchase, it could be gone. Dresses at a sample sale are never guaranteed until you say yes and purchase it. You don’t want to risk another bride purchasing the dress! And because some of these dresses are discontinued, you never know if you’ll be able to find it somewhere else.
5. Being unprepared
Finally, we suggest that you come to a bridal sample sale prepared. What exactly does this mean? For starters, as we’ve already mentioned… be prepared to say yes! If you come to a sample sale just to browse, you might end up finding “the one.” And, again, if you walk away… the dress could be gone when you come back! We get it. If you just got engaged, you may come to a bridal sample sale just to browse to try and get a feel for styles that you might like. And there’s not necessarily anything wrong with that! But, come prepared to say “yes” just in case! This is also the reason that we suggest bringing guests with you. You don’t want them to miss that special moment!
