5 Questions To Ask Your Wedding Photographer

by | Dec 26, 2018

Hello! Our post today is in collaboration with Anne Casey Photography. We work with her as part of the Be More Inspired Wedding Collective and she is here today to talk about 5 questions you should ask your wedding photographer before you decide that they are YOUR wedding photographer. She’s also providing her answers to these questions so that you can get an idea of her style and personality. They’re definitely things to pay attention to as you make this very important decision!

How would you describe your photography style?

My photography style is light and airy, and focused on capturing the love between two people. I want to photograph the laughter and celebrate the love – never worry about being awkward on camera in front of me! I out-awkward everyone when it comes to getting my photo taken.

Can I see the proofs for a full wedding you have shot?

Obviously! Im happy to share proofs with you, or you can scroll through my blogs and see weddings Ive photographed in the past. I love using my blog to showcase the different types of photography I do. Weddings are my main focus, but engagement shoots are equally important because thats a quieter time for couples to get comfortable in front of the camera. After all, youre the stars of the show at your wedding!

How long after the wedding can I expect to see my photos?

Online galleries are uploaded within sixty days of your wedding. I post sneak peeks in the days and weeks following your big day! Make sure to tag yourselves! I love if you post your wedding pictures on your own social media; I just ask please that you tag me!

Can you assure us that you have backup equipment?

ABSOLUTELY. Im an over-packer. I carry a more than enough lenses and camera bodies, an unusual amount of batteries, and enough memory cards to photograph your wedding, honeymoon, and the first 5 years of your marriage! Kidding, sort of… 😉

What does your photography timeline look like?

My wedding timelines are very specific to how YOUR wedding is planned! We have a comprehensive conversation before your wedding to discuss exactly what you want shot and in what time frame. It all depends on your venue, what time your wedding is and who will be where when. Basically, its all about you!

What do you love most about photographing weddings?

My favorite part about photographing weddings is the love that you have for each other! I take pride in really being a part of your big day instead of just a person with a camera. On your wedding day, consider me an extra bridesmaid! I’ll be with you the entire day. My job is about more than just serving as your photographer. On wedding days you’ll often find me making sure you’re hydrated, checking that you’ve eaten, and (most importantly), ensuring that you’ve taken a few moments to let this day sink in. Because a wedding isn’t just a party, it’s a lifelong commitment to each other. We hope that this look into how a wedding photographer thinks was interesting for you guys! Don’t forget to check out Anne’s website, where this post first appeared and look into her services. We love her!
