May 3, 2021

Now that weddings are really starting to kick back into gear, we’re so excited to be looking at the next season of bridal trends! Today, we’re sharing with you some of the trendiest 2022 wedding dress trends that we have come across. If you’re starting to plan your wedding or just love looking at bridal fashion, you’re definitely going to want to keep reading!

Here are some of the top 2022 wedding dress trends for the upcoming bridal season to keep your eye on!

 1. Feathers

Feathers are certainly one of those over-the-top wedding dress details that some brides are going to die for! These dramatic embellishments are the perfect way to make a bold statement on your wedding day.

2. Separates

With an increase in non-traditional bridal wear comes bridal separates. If you would prefer to wear multiple pieces rather than a wedding dress, this will be perfect for you!

3. Plunging necklines

Deep v, plunging necklines are a huge trend for the upcoming bridal season. They were a part of almost every single dress that debuted at the most recent bridal fashion week!

4. Balloon sleeves

Yes, puffy sleeves are back in for bridal dresses! As you’ll see, a lot of Regency era designs are back in fashion, thanks to shows and other pop culture trends such as Bridgerton.

5. Bows

Bows are very popular when it comes to 2022 wedding dress trends! This includes bows of all sizes. There could be delicate bows along shoulder straps or an oversized bow adorning an open back. The possibilities are endless but we think that they look so cute!

6. Short dresses

As elopements and casual weddings have become more popular, so have short dresses! We expect that this trend will stick around for many seasons to come.

Plus, if you have your heart set on a traditional long wedding gown as you walk down the aisle, there are plenty of opportunities to rock the short dress! This could be during your reception, rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower.

7. Square necklines

Another Regency era trend that is back in style are square necklines! Obviously this is more of a geometric neckline than your typical sweetheart or plunging necklines. A square neckline will flatter your neckline and shoulders beautifully.

8. Colorful florals

“Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” We know, we know. Florals are always on trend when it comes to wedding dresses… and wedding planning in general! But this season, designers are all about colorful florals. We love this trend — we’re all about adding a pop of something to make your dress uniquely you!

10. High slits

Looking to show some extra skin on your wedding day? A high slit is the perfect way to do that and is a very popular upcoming wedding dress trend. Looking to feel like a princess and feel sexy? You could opt to have a semi-hidden slit in your full ballgown! It’s an unexpected feature that makes for some great photos.

Off-the-shoulder sleeves allow you to express your inner romantic, which we obviously are alllll about for weddings. Plus, off-the-shoulder sleeves can work for any silhouette or fabric!

12. Statement veils and headpieces

Statement veils and headpieces are wildly popular 2022 wedding dress accessories. We love when a bride chooses a more simple gown and then does it up with accessories! We also love when a bride chooses a statement gown and statement accessories! This day is all about you and you should feel your best.

13. Crop tops

This trend may be surprising to some of you more traditional people, but crop tops are a big 2022 wedding dress trend. As we mentioned before, separate pieces are huge this year, and with that comes crop tops! Can’t you just picture a strapless cropped top with a full skirt? Gorgeous!

14. Floral motifs

We know, we know… we aren’t even going to mention the iconic “Devil Wears Prada” quote this time. But floral motifs are a big upcoming trend. This includes large and small floral appliques!

Like separates, transitional pieces are also becoming more popular. We’re expecting them to become even more popular in the coming years! This includes capes, removable sleeves, overskirts, and more!

16. Sexy silhouettes

Silhouettes that show off your curves and show some extra skin are wildly popular as we move toward more “modern” dress trends.

Finally, corset bodices are making a huge comeback — most likely due in part to shows like Bridgerton! Corset bodices are a great way to have a structural element to your dress.
