It's a New Year!

Written by Lauren Niles on Wednesday, 09 January 2013. Posted in K&B News

As Kate would say it...POP. FIZZ. CLINK!

The past three years at K&B have been a whirlwind!  We've doubled retail space, added some amazing bridal and maids lines, added a roomy event's studio, rebranded, built our portfolio and made a TON of new friends in our clients and industry.

So, WHAT will 2013 bring?!  Like every year, we're expecting growth professionally and personally.  Here are a few of our new year's resolutions...

1) Continue to further define our brand:  We've come into our own as the modern romantics and we want to make sure that everything you see coming from K&B perfectly reflects that- just how we love to perfectly reflect our client's style in their wedding fashions and planning!

2) Make our process of serving you in bridal appointments EVEN BETTER!!  We want to come up with even more ways of making you feel special and beautiful in choosing your gown.

3) Be the idea that people pin:  We want to push ourselves even further to be the most creative, most original resource for our couples in their planning.

4) MAKE MORE FRIENDS!! Are you in the wedding industry?  We want to meet you!  We want to have coffee with you, chat about business and get to know you! We like to think that we're pretty cool, and since we obviously have the same interests, we're betting you are too!  Let's do lunch.

5) Take a few more deep breaths:  It's no secret that anyone in the wedding industry is a busy person.  It's a high energy, fast paced job.  But, this year, we want to take a deep breath to really appreciate the things that made us choose this career in the first place- the tears of a bride who found "the one", the romance of the strings beginning to play, the hug between a father and bride, the look on the groom's face, a silly bridesmaid's photo, and the look on our client's friend's faces when they see the reception space for the first time.  This year, we'll take the time to more deeply appreciate love.

What are your new year's resolutions?  Tell us in the comments!

Real Wedding: Jennie & Bryan

Written by Lauren Niles on Thursday, 30 August 2012. Posted in K&B News, Bridal Fashion, Wedding Trends, Bridal, Event Planning

A Homespun Barn Wedding

For almost a year, I had been working with Jennie to curate every detail of her incredibly personal wedding.  She and Bryan decided to have their wedding at his family farm- the farm where he grew up, where he spends long days and even where he brought her on their first date.  It was absolutely the perfect choice for them.

Since Jennie's a photographer and sees weddings on a weekly basis, she knew exactly what she wanted.  She wanted a fun wedding with burlap accents, mason jar floral arrangments and personal touches that would make it feel warm and inviting.

Jennie and Bryan were an absolute pleasure to work with.  They are probably one of the most fun loving couples I've ever met and they are beyond sweet and easy to work with.  We love when we get the couples who will continue to be our friends past the "I do's" and this couple was definitely one of them.

Enjoy the pics!!

A Tribal Inspired Wedding Shoot

When Current Fashion Trends meet Bridal

Everyone knows the girls at K&B love a good photo shoot.  It's our chance to be absolutely crazy and do the things we dream of, the things brides are inspired by, the larger than life things that are maybe too daring to take on.  So, that's what we did.  We collaborated with an AMAZING team of vendors and took on the latest tribal trend.

To gather real-world inspiration, I took to my very own cousin's wedding!  He was recently married in Uganda to a gorgeous gal that I now call family!  While I wasn't able to be at the wedding, the pictures inspired me- bold colors, GREAT accessories, gorgeous draping- all in the middle of the natural landscape of Uganda.  It was fabulous.  And, this, along with the tribal inspired fashion editorials that I love so much, inspired this shoot.

Now, what can you, in your city, take from this?

-The Colors:  Be a little daring!  Choose a palette of bold hues and put them next to natural elements.  There's something that is so raw, but totally beautiful about the combination.

-The Stationery!  The pattern in the stationery is to die for.  Kim from Preston's did far and above what I could have asked for!

-The Accessories: Meg Browning from Second Nature did an amazing job pulling together the natural feel.  For your wedding, copy the use of turquoise and statement pieces.

-The Flowers:  The florals by Richardson's were absolutely TO DIE FOR.  To get the inspired by look, use succulents for the natural feel next to boldly hued blooms.

And, now for the grand reveal!

We all know a K&B bride is fabulous and deserving of an exclusive experience.  Thus, we're launching complimentary Private Parties.  Make it a day for you and your bridesmaids or you and your family to come into our boutique, closed exclusively for you, sip cocktails, enjoy light refreshments, try own gowns (bridal, bridesmaids or moms), and, most importantly, have the undivided attention of one of our personal bridal stylists in choosing your wedding day fashions.  We'll even offer party concierge, booking spa treatments for you during your stay here, upon request.  And, of course, no party is complete without some swag.  You and each of your guests will leave with a swag bag full of goodies, a fabulous look and some amazing memories to kick off your wedding planning with.

Parties can be booked on Sundays for up to 10 guests.  Call to check for availability.
