Pantone Palette: Emerald

Written by Lauren Niles on Thursday, 20 December 2012. Posted in Bridal Fashion, Wedding Trends, Bridal, Event Planning

The lifestyle world is buzzing after Pantone released their 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald.  We expect to see emerald make strong statements in fashion, interiors and weddings throughout 2013 (and most likely showing it's gorgeous face in spring 2014 nuptials).  When planning your design, consider pairing the hue with black and white stripes for a bit of sophisticated whimsy, navy for preppy flair or taupe for a bit of natural refinement.

Seeing Color...

Just when you thought ombre was over...

The ombre trend is everywhere.  In fact, we almost thought it was over.  Until, we realized that ombre doesn't have to be reserved for flowers or hair color.  Try it out on your bridesmaids for a fresh take on the trend and a depth to your fashion story.

A Fresh Fall Color Story: Wine+Mauve+Blush

Because Wine is the Color of Fall Fashion '12

Some of you may know that I have previously had issues with red.  I've had to make myself undergo some major color therapy to come to grips with the fact that it doesn't have to look like an 80's wedding.  You may also know that I'm obsessed with blush.  So, now that I'm currently dying over the wine/cranberry trend in fashion, I've introduced my new found love to my always love for a match made in color palette heaven.

And to be honest, I'm just a little tired of orange (not that it can't be fab when done right!)

Enter: Wine+Mauve+Blush (with accent shades of Lavender)

Glitter & be Wed

A party isn't a party without some glitter.

It's the more sophisticated version of confetti.  GLITTER.  It's come back with a vengeance- from stationery, gowns and desserts to linens, floral containers and photographic effect.  It's so fun, so girly and so CELEBRATORY.

It's like the decorative version of popping a great bottle of champagne.

Real Wedding: Jennie & Bryan

A Homespun Barn Wedding

For almost a year, I had been working with Jennie to curate every detail of her incredibly personal wedding.  She and Bryan decided to have their wedding at his family farm- the farm where he grew up, where he spends long days and even where he brought her on their first date.  It was absolutely the perfect choice for them.

Since Jennie's a photographer and sees weddings on a weekly basis, she knew exactly what she wanted.  She wanted a fun wedding with burlap accents, mason jar floral arrangments and personal touches that would make it feel warm and inviting.

Jennie and Bryan were an absolute pleasure to work with.  They are probably one of the most fun loving couples I've ever met and they are beyond sweet and easy to work with.  We love when we get the couples who will continue to be our friends past the "I do's" and this couple was definitely one of them.

Enjoy the pics!!
